GIVEN BIRTH TO A NOBLE MATERIEL
If glass has been discovered for thousands of years, it still remains a mystery material.
However, it is in fact a very simple matter, the materiel is formed by a fusion of
silicia.
Man masters this element to make, as he wishes, bottles, window panes or works of art.
It is with continious heat that glass attains it's nobleness, worthy of containing any
liquid from the simple to the most prestigious.
From the 14th century, men from the tarn region knew, through their talent, to bring a
great tradition of glass making to their region which continues today.
At the VOA Albi Glassworks, the mystery of this alchemy is lived out daily. 300 tonnes of
glass a day are melted in 2 ovens and become one of three basic shades: Champagne, Autumn
leaf and White.
